The Lone Star Allegro Club is a chapter of the Tiffin Motorhomes Allegro Club of Red Bay, Alabama.

The Houston area Allegro Club was formed at a meeting held at the Houston Hilton – Hobby on February 9, 2006. We had 7 members join that evening and are considered “charter” members of the Lone Star Allegro Club. Don & Nancy Irle, Wilson & Katy Kelley, Bruce and Sherran Marler, Leon & Sharon Divin, Bob & Mellie Bratcher, Albert & Sallie Panzer, and Richard and Nancy Brinlee were the 7 couples who were present that evening and formed the club charter.

Bruce Marler served as our first President, Sharon Divin was our first Secretary/Treasurer, and Richard Brinlee was our Vice President/Wagonmaster. Our first rally was held at Coushatta RV Ranch in Bellville, Texas on March 23 through 25, 2006.

 Our club holds its rallies on the fourth full weekend of the month and we camp within an approximate 150 mile radius of Houston. Some typical destinations are Columbus, The Woodlands, Willis, Cut-n-Shoot, Pearland and Bellville. We do not have rallies during the months of June, July and August but plan a club luncheon during one of these months so that everyone can get together.  

There were about 25 member rigs for 2009 and our dues are $15/year. Due the fact that we have so many friends who either full-time or travel for months at a time, a typical rally will have a turn-out of 6 – 12 rigs. We just never know until registration where everyone is!!!

At a typical rally, each member will pay their own site fee to the campground. Many times, members who do not work will come in a day early or stay a day or two after the rally. In addition to the site fee, the volunteer host couples will set a rally fee that will pay for breakfast and for dinner on Saturday. Our Friday dinner is on-your-own because people arrive at different times. You will find lots of folks wanting to go to a local restaurant or throw “dogs” on the grill on these Friday nights. Typically, on a Saturday evening, there will be an activity that you may wish to participate in and/or we enjoy some type of table games together. This is a fairly laid-back group, so those who want to join in will do so, and those who don’t, won’t. But you’re always welcome to join in the circle of fold-out chairs to simply visit and tell jokes.
